On my Wall today

As I finished my 'Down in the Garden' quilt top I

have moved onto another night time project

Berries and Bluebirds

I started Block 1 not long after it arrived

(8 months ago)

started being the word. I got as far as the

birds in the tree then filed it away

because I really didn't like the fabric

it was 'too bright' for my liking

but I am persevering with it

and this is what block 1 looks like now

and I am loving it., its bright and cheerful and happy

alot like my eldest girlie so she is going to get the finished

product, but shhhh its a secret

moving onto block 2's progress

Top Bird

bottom bird

 just needs the stems, 5 leaves and 1 berry

stitched down

then its onto the vine and I can start sewing the block

together. I stitch the circles and flowers after the block

is together.

Tomorrow night I should be able to move onto block 3

Progress is happening yippee

I need to make a narky phone call today

its been 4 weeks tomorrow since our furniture was

moved out of our house, and we are still waiting

for all of our outdoor furniture, dh's tools, crystal cabinet

and the tv cabinet, the kids scooters and bike pedals to arrive.

Last week I was told it was all in Melbourne

waiting to be sent to Canberra and that

we would have it this week

we don't have it.....and I am a little p*issed, well actually I

am really p*issed about it. So today is the day to get

narky lol

Little Patchwork Village, designed by Rosalie Quinlan is

quilted, binding sewn on and down

and

hanging on Imogens wall, personally I was a bit worried how the colours

looked as they were quite washed out on my design wall but

on Imgens wall they pop as she has a deep purple paint on one wall

and I love it

Down in the Garden, designed by Leanne Beasley just needs its final

border sewn on and it will be ready for quilting. Not sure when the quiting will

happen as I can't find any backings that I like locally so it may have to wait

unti I get a trip home to Tasmania.

and I am sure Henry will sleep anywhere, this was where I found him

at 11pm last night asleep with his water bowl, he only stayed there until

I went to bed then plodded downstairs to his pillow.

No machine work for me today, just a day of prep work for

Berries and Bluebirds and In My Garden ready for some stitching

in front of the tv tonight :)

Tonight I have finally finished all

the stitcheries, all the needleturn

and the dresdan plates for

DOWN IN THE GARDEN

yippee

Its currently on my design wall waiting to be sewn

together, but I have to quilt Imogens

wall hanging first, as tempting as it is

to sew it together tomorrow.

I will share a picture of it tomorrow

I started it late last year.....

but as we know you can't rush these things.

So tomorrow night I will re-start stitching

Berries and Bluebirds

and see if I can get it

finished before christmas.....

Orchids, Cupboards and Henrycat

As the girlies have been at school for

12 weeks without a holiday and as the

twosome were on school camp

Imogen had a 'mental health' day

so with my littlest shopping buddie we headed

off to Bega this morning to have a look at an orchid show

and to collect something for my sewing room

somehow these came home with us

this cupboard was the real reason we went to Bega

$99 at Go-lo an absolute bargin

and it fits perfectly into the corner

This is where Henry hangs out, in the hope he can escape

when the front door is opened, which he has managed twice lol

So Em took him for a 'walk'

even though he just likes to chew the plant leaves and come back inside

I love this cat



Its a finish

Tis the Season is

offically finished

and my basic in the ditch quilting

Progress

Yesterday I finally got to spend the day in my sewing room

and look what I managed to get together

Little Patchwork Village

this is for Imogens bedroom wall

today I managed to get my

Tis The Season top together, quilting starts tomorrow

Sophie and Emma are off on school camp tomorrow until

Friday afternoon

so my plan is to get the two wallhangings quilted

binding stitched on and sewn down

then on the weekend I will make the binding and sew at

least one onto one of Em's quilts as she doesn't have a 2nd bed

I really only need to finish one.

I have been stitching of a night in front of the tv, last night

I re started the final block of

Down in the garden, as soon as its done I will get that

sewn together and then I am almost up to date with my

BOM"S, well that just leaves

Anni Down's Garden BOM still on block 1

and Gail Pan's

Berries and Bluebirds again still on block 1

but its soooooo nice to be back at the machine again



How Sweet it is

To live in a town you love.

and I love Eden,

I love the fact that if I get small town fever and need to escape, I can jump in the

car, drive for 20 minutes and I am in Merimbula, drive for another

15-20 minutes and I am in Bega

6 hours to Melbourne, 6 hours to Sydney.

LOVE LOVE LOVE it

The girlies are all settled and happy at school

dh loves his job and pops home when ever he wants

the house is huge and as we threw out, donated, sold so much stuff before we left

I get up in the mornings, put the washing on, make breakfast & lunches, drop kids at school

and it takes me 10 minutes to make the beds, tidy the kitchen and the

day is then mine to do as I please

Not that I have done any sewing in my gorgeous big sewing room

YET.

Big excitement here last night for the 1st time in 10 days we could actually

watch crystal clear, with sound and no interference free to air tv

our austar has been re connected, we have internet

and its taken me a week to do 105kms in the car lol

Tomorrow if the weather is nice I am going whale watching :)

I have never been whale watching so its rather exciting.

I joined the girls and I up at the library today Sophie is costing us a

small fortune in books, she can read a book a day.

Love that,

Emma is getting more interested in reading, she wants new books

too lol and Imogen is plodding along with her reading really really

well.

Next week we will shrink to a family of 3 as the 2 big girls are

going on school camp Wednesday - Friday, they are so excited.

Dh is off to Wollongong on Thursday for a medical

we went to Bega this morning for his eye test, had some brunch there

did a bit of camp shopping, picked up some new books for the

girlies now I am wasting time until I have to collect them from school.

I did burn my fingers though on the wood heater, I swore long and loud lol

I have lost a couple of layers of skin though but they will heal well

unlike my knuckle which I burnt cooking dinner on Monday night,

which blister, popped and has been so weepy, and as its right on my knuckle

everytime I bend my finger it splits open again and it is just soooooo

sore.

The only sewing I have done is for Imogens wall hanging

which is Rosalie Quinlans Little Patchwork Village, she picked it out

in Bairnsdale, on our drive here which was 2 weeks ago tomorrow

4.5 houses stitched, 4.5 to go then I get the sew it all together.

Plus I need to put the binding on Em's new bed quilt, and quilt

her owly wall hanging which I made soooo long ago, then I need to

make a wall hanging for Sophie who won't ever ask for one, but I

know she really wants one.

Just want to say I miss my mummy and my daddy

and doing coffee with the girls.

I will have to plan a trip home very soon for a couple of days

just to get my mama fix lol

came home for Henry's dinner

and yes it is HUGE, with lots of space inside, we have a reserve behind us

a reserve across the road and Imogen has friends from her class who live

a couple of houses away.

and this is a very short 300m stroll away.

Today I plan on heading into my sewing room and finishing

Tis The Season I just need to border 1 block, add the borders,

back it, baste it and quilt it.

No pressure at all.
