having a wonderful time with his new elephant that he got at the vets today, and he got 3 pigs ears too, and he has the WORST doggy breath ever lol

No fires in my neck of the woods but lordy this weather is strange, at 2pm WST it was 43.1 degrees and falling its now 3:40pm and the temp is 44 degrees and RISING.....

tomorrow its supposed to be a cool 25 degrees YIPPEE bring it on

**** It was 45 degrees today, we are just waiting for DH to get home and we are hitting the beach ****

Feeling Hot Hot Hot

and slightly worried.

We are on  a catastrophic fire warning today and should the worst happen we are out of here without a second thought its 8:06am and the temp is already over 35 degrees C, we are heading for 40+ so today we will hide in the aircon between appointments.

We are off to the vet at 11 for the fur babies to get their tapeworm treatment as its only 2 weeks until the fur babies and their travelling partners leave for Gumdrops house.

OMG 2 WEEKS.

then we have a nail appointment, well I have one but the girlies need to come too

then its back to the cupboards to continue the cleanup cleanout.

Am I the only one who LOVES this show?

It started on Foxtel this year, and thanks to my bigger iPod I have spent the day downloading it from iTunes.

12 hours to do 3 half hour episodes....... and I still have another 3 eps to go then I need to find the next season.

Oh I do love a good giggle  lol

So Tired

We had a very late night last nght and a very delayed early start this morning (they appeared loudy at 5:30am,  we managed to hold them off until 6:30am and by 7am it was all over lol.

The girlies all received a portable dvd player and movie, a ds game, 2 got new cd players, 1 received a fur real baby lion cub who is called Lily or Lulu. They were given pandora beads, bookshop vouchers, lip glosses and some wii games.

Dh was given a Nespresso coffee machine he got the red one :) and I have to say the coffee is great. It came with a trial pack of the pods so I have put in a pod order :)

Me, well dh and the girlies spoilt me with a new  160 GB iPod, I only have to add another 36 000 songs  and it will be full :)

I also received a new mobile phone :) 

and last night on Christmas Eve we all opened 1 gift,  I opened my Christmas day present from Chookyblue which I LOVE and will share a photo in the next couple of days and my SSCS from Ulla again I LOVE it :) and photo to come.

I hope that your day was happy and full of fabulous food, fine wine and great company.

My Girl

my baby girl has lost her first tooth, can you see that tiny gap on the bottom row of teeth?  That is where is came from all because there is one whopper adult tooth forcing its way up, with its mate following closely behind.  Apparently she has wobbly top tooth too, althought we are yet to see it wobble

and meet Beauregard and his Mummy.

 

The littlest girlie just doesn't like it when we leave her anywhere together for an extended period even when she is with her sisters and as she is going to be a Grandma and Frumpas for 2 weeks without us I am worried she will have a meltdown so today I bought Beauregard and his Mummy. The plan is for the littlest girlie to have Beauregard to look after while we are driving our way home, and I will keep Mummy Beauregard with me in the car and they will be reunited when we finally make it home.

We tried it once before when I went away for a week when she was 2 and it worked well. So fingers crossed.

Busy Busy Busy

* My girlies finished school for 2009 today

* I finished work (sob sob) I am going to miss the shop and the girls when we go

*  I am madly trying to get a couple of projects finished for the shop, I hope to have them done before Christmas

*  I have FINISHED the Christmas present shopping, I just need to phone and organise my dads present, he is getting a carton of wine and tomorrow the girls and I will be off to the post office to send Christmas presents off.

*  I had the Wednesday sewing girls Christmas dinner tonight, the company was fabulous, the drinks were fabulous the food, well we won't be rushing back lol

* something excited happened to my baby girl yesterday, and she had a special visitor last night while she was sleeping,  I'll share a photo tomorrow, it deserves a post of its own.

*  I am tired

*  pies and tarts are progressing nicely

*  booked the skip to arrive Jan 4 so we can clean out and cull our lives

* had a 9 minute 54 sec phone conversation with my dad the phone phobic, I am sure it was the longest call we have ever had  lol

*  did I mention I am tired lol

* finishing a queensize convergence (sp) quilt top tomorrow morning

* my chocolate and pink reproduction fabric quilt is ready to be collected from the quilting lady :) :) :) not sure if the binding will get sewn on BEFORE we go though lol

* had my car serviced yesterday its going back Friday for a new radiator (holden recall and under warrenty phew)

* and got new tyres  today

and after Friday the Aspro will be ready to roll east :) :) :)

* came up with a game plan to keep my baby girlie happy while she is at Grandma and Frumpas without us, will share a photo and the plan tomorrow.

* I also have been banned from the supermaret, we are in eat the contents of the freezers and pantry mode :( :( :( I am hoping we have Lenards chicken in the freezer otherwise I'll have to sneak some into the freezer tomorrow.

a gorgeous rainbow, this was taken less than 2 hrs ago, we have had a day of extreme heat, 44 degrees was our maximum today, at 6 pm it had dropped to the low 20's (thank goodness)

5 more days

of the 2009 school year for the girlie's. I am still in shock that 2009 is almost over

This year the twosome were in Year 3, they turned 8 and had their first sleepover, they had 2 teachers and we realised that each girlie definately needs attention in different areas

My baby girl, was in Pre Primary, she turned 6, she went on her 1st sleepover and is just a gorgeous little girl.

next school year

the twosome will be in Year 3 (again)

my baby girlie will be in year 1......that in itself is going to cause some issues as she will be/is academically behind her peers in Tasmania, so we will be busy term 1 catching her up.

and the best bit about 2010

we will be home with family and friends

Airline tickets are booked  :)

the animals are ALMOST sorted flight wise, accomodation for them all i once they get home is organised too :)

and I have to say 'see ya' to my babies and the kitty's and the naughty puppy and DH on the 12th of January, and I won't see their gorgeous  faces until February 1st when the ship docks in Devonport, Mum has decided they are all coming to meet the ship when it berths. DH I will see when he flies back here on the Jan 13.

Its all coming together :)

By tonight, the girlie's, the naughty puppy and Harry and Henry will all have flights booked for our big move next month, they are all flying ahead of DH and I and will get to have a holiday with Grandma and Frumpa before we arrive.

By tonight we will also have our tickets booked for the Spirit of Tasmania :) :) :)

Which means DH and I get to take our time driving east in the Aspro. ( I have a holden astra which we call the aspro) so I am seeking addresses for all quilt shops between WA and Victoria, Our plan is to have 3 days in Adelaide, 2 days to get to Melbourne then we will just hang in Victoria until we need to catch the ferry.

So if you know of any MUST VISIT shops could you please let me know.

and work wise I have only 5 more days then the girlie's are on school holidays, so today at work I am learning how to stipple on the beast :) :) :)

Harry climbs it, he pulls the decorations off, he swats anything that is hanging down at least he is amused though and has stopped destroying the scratching post.

We're Back

from our last minute camping adventure.

We took off Friday afternoon and arrived at our camp ground after we remembered HOW to put up the camper trailer lol, we were set. We had a BBQ tea, a walk on the beach, looked at the stars and we were all asleep before 9:30pm.

Saturday we discovered just how early the sun rises in the West we were all up by 6am....the sun by 4:30am had some brekkie then I headed back into town for essentials like beanies, batteries, the newspaper and some games. We dicided to go for a drive found the most awesome photo to take but unfortunately  the camera batteries were flat I was rather miffed at that lol. So w headed back to camp and had a rest. DH took 1 girlie fishing the other 2 hung out with me. After an hour or so we wandered over to Dh and the other girlie who was happily trying to catch crabs with bits of bbq sausage, the crabs ate the sausage but avoided capture THIS TIME lol.

Sunday morning we packed up and headed home, after lunch the dancing queens had their dancing break up party and they also discovered a HUGE snake in the garage, I think the snake was more aftraid of them, it took off out the door ran in DH's car (lol) then took off down the driveway back to the bush...... its times like that I am grateful our house in Tasmania is in the midst of suburbia lol lol lol

We know what we need in the camper and what we don't I am glad we had a little test run before we start driving east next month and hopefully we will get another quick weekend away before we leave and I will make sure the camera batteries are fully charged before we go lol.

Westalee Wonders

I Love these little tools, although the marking on each piece is testing my patience I will solider on because I want to see the final result myself.

So this is the pile of equilateral triangles that have been sewn together with a very small pile of unmarked and unsewn triangles

and these are the magic tools.

Top left is the scant quarter inch  guide, for my beast I set my stitch to 4.1

below that is the quater inch mark gauge

then the equilateral triangle and the half triangle.

If you can get some I highly reccommend them :)

Stash Busting

new tools arrived at work on Friday in the form of Westalee Rulers, that the girls ordered at AQM, so I got to bring home a jelly roll, a scant quater inch seam needle postioning tool thingie, a quater inch ruler and the 'Stash buster pieced equilateral triangle' tool so far I have cut 120 tirangles and sewn 92 of them together, tomorrow I get to cut another 48, yay me lol.

I'll be collecting the Stash buster house ruler on Tuesday to use the rest of the jelly roll.

Girlie # 2 is FINE, I have kept her dr's appointment though to make sure her tonsil has settled down, we didn't get to see the dr the other morning.

the other girlie's are just gorgeous as usual

Cats are crazy, the naughty puppy is still naughty so its the same old same old really.

Sick

My girlie # 2 is unwell.

The girlie who has soooo much energy 110% of the time, my livewire

She arrived home from school and took herself to bed! So I dosed her with panadol then tried so hard to get her into GP , she was soooo hot and complaining of an awful headache, so as I was unable to get her seen by a GP until December 7, I took her to our local hospital, where they said she was dehydrated and that caused her headache, but they then did a urine test with had something in it Lipo somethings, then they started to really look at her,

my poor girl has massively swollen glands in her neck, a swollen tonsil that was pitted and she was so very pale, so the end result was 2 hrs at the hospital, no real diagnosis and we are to go back tomorrow at 8am to have her looked at by a dr.......

fingers crossed that she will be ok in the morning and there is nothing seriously wrong with her that anti biotics can't cure.

A big day at the post office tomorrow, my SSCS gift, a parcel to my mum with some silk threads and baste it glue, and part of my advent swap gift and could someone please help me decide which gift to send as the 'big one' for Christams day I will love you forever cause the way things are going Miss Chookyblue is going to end up with both!

What a Man

Look what DH found for me on the weekend. He called into the local uber expensive 2nd hand shop for a look and found this little gem, he waited until lunchtime today to tell me because he didn't think I'd want it my reply was WHAT THE, so off we went for a look and I tell you all my fingers were crossed that it was still there and it was. A baby Singer sewing machine that WORKS. I need to track down a bobbin cover plate and all will be good.

What a man.

So Close yet so far

Lots of decisions made today

Grandma and Frumpa are flying over early January to collect 3 lil girlie's, 2 lil kitty's and 1 naughty puppy, they are the lucky ones, 1 day travelling in planes me I get to be co driver for the trip home from WA to Tasmania.

and

in 42 days I will be sitting in an empty house after watching our life being driven away on the back of a semi trailer  (again)

42 days so exciting.

Not to much sewing going though, I decided on Sunday that I wasn't sure of my Christmas day present for my advent swap partner, so I started making a 2nd, now I can't decide WHICH one to send........

I have about 2 hours work left on my SSCS that Chookyblue is running and it will be postal

last night we had dh's workmate and his partner over for dinner, good food, good wine great company was just a great night but a very late one and I was very very tired this morning.

We have an engagement party on this Friday night, will be great fun otherwise I am working again tomorrow sewing at home Thursday and working again Friday morning. I think I'll need a nanna nap friday afternoon before we go out.

My baby girlie has her very first loose tooth its being pushed out by her adult tooth, poor baby her gum is so inflamed and sore that she has to have bonjella lol, she went to the dentist yesterday and was told she had beautiful teeth, no holes just lovely pearly whites :) that made me happy.

I have a parcel waiting for me at the Post Office, very exciting as I am not expecting anything, I have a feeling its the 1st month of the BOM I am doing with the Fat Quarter Shop I guess I will find out in the morning when I collect it.

I will be so pleased when school, christmas and the sorting out is done.

42 days

Short Leg Syndrome

is what it seems I suffer from.

I bought some 'crop leg pants' yesterday, now to me crop means short, so I expected to put them on and have them sit about 4 inches above my ankle.

but

when I put them on they actually sat about 1/2 and inch above my ankle....... today I had to get them taken up lol.

I'll admit to it now

Goodies from AQM

I am so lucky the girls from work didn't forget about me while they were at the AQM in Melbourne last week. I have a bit of a chook love thing happening, I am going to miss our 'girls' when we go back to Tasmania and DH has assured me I CANNOT take the 'girls' home with us :(

So the girls from work bought me some McKenna Ryan, chook rod ends.

these are  some of the goodies I had in my AQM goodie bag :) 

a 14 x 14 ruler, especially to do a McKenna Ryan quilt, I added my name to the shop list for the BOM of All Cooped Up,  The charm squares are from Michelle Marvig;s 1st fabric line. Some Sew Easy craft mats, Matilda's Own baby templates, a clover Hera Marker, some threads, a thread quide and lots more.

then I found the new Moda that came back, new designs that you can't even buy from the States, the dark is Butterfly Garden by Kansas Trouble Quilters, I got a layer cake and a jelly roll and I am thinking I might need a charm pack too, and the light is Martinique by 3 Sisters, so I am feeling pretty darn special to have these babies :)

and I have one more goodie to share as soon as I remember where I put it, apparently its the FIRST one in the country and my boss managed to sweet talk the distributor to get it for me.....so you just need to wait until I find it tomorrow for a photo, but again I feel very very lucky  to have it and I am looking forward to using it as soon as I find the perfect pattern

Back to Normal

If there is such a thing as normal for me lol

the girls have returned fromQuitl Market in Melbourne, I am still a bit jealous that I couldn't go too, but hey I got some gorgeous presents for holding down the fort, so to speak here.

I'll share photos in the next couple of days of my pressies, and they bought home new Moda jelly rolls and layer cakes, there are 2 different designs that have my name written on them lol.

So its back to regular programming for my lil family, no more collecting my girlies from school  then them having to hang out at the shop until closing, we are back to the bus each afternoon, I must say it was lovely coming home this afternoon to a quiet house, and watching for the school bus.

I do love silence, its such a rare thing for me.

Sewing wise I have started a new project, a cot quilt for our littlest family member, baby K, who is 3 months old, I am making him the cot quilt in the new Anni Downs, book A Boy Story, its gorgeous and I have had fun collecting fabric for it. Progress photos to come, I have aslo made 1 complete wall hanging, half of another and a needlecase all designed by Anni. I will admit she is one of my favourite designers.

Poppy Update

My FIL (DH's dad) had his specialists' appointmet today

He has Stage 1A MALT Lymphoma of the stomach lining

he has a 75-80% rate of survival

he starts Chemo next Tuesday

1 wk on 2 wks off

18 wks in total

prayers and positive thoughts needed please

DH and I are prepared to fly cross country if needed to be there for support and to deal with treatments etc to give MIL a break

plans are under way for a trip to visit the beautiful stat if Tasmania once we have settled back in

I am happy there is a treatment plan but sad that FIL is having to deal with it.

There will be a much happier post tomorrow I am sure of it :)

he drives us crazy when he lives with us but I miss him when he is gone

My Boyfriends Back...

Well almost, DH is currently winging his way from Brisvgas back to Perth, he left Brisvegas as we woke up. Ony a few more hours til he's home YIPPEE

I am just way to organised when he is away, its currently 8:53am and the dishwasher is running, floors are swept, the house is clean, the dog has been rounded up and bought home, new snake tracks on the drive, thats ONE BIG SNAKE thats hiding, the cts have been fed and both are outside, the girlies have been fed and watered, dressed and will be at school already. See way to organised. Why is it that when DH is home we are never this organised......

never mind thats life I guess. I am off to the shop today for last minute instructions before they girls all go off to AQM in Melbourne........so not fair lol, hoping to get in for an appoitment to get my nails done, also hoping to find the latest issue of Homespn and the newsagents, then home again for the afternoon onslaught of the girlies and DH (who wants to have  remembered the book I asked him to get for me as you can't get it here)

Today's Sewing

I quilted & sewed the binding onto the doll quilt I started yesterday

then

I trimmed the excess off and it wasn't until I started to put the binding clips on that I realised I have a major OOPS on my hands you see I trimmed 2 corners off my binding lol.

but its all good and I'm sure I can correct my oops

Patience was never a strong point for me lol.

my man is home tomorrow :) us girlie's are very excited. I have a week of full time work s the boss and the other shop girls are all off to Melbourne for AQM, I am very jealous and they had better bring me home something fabulous we keep trying to convince DH that I NEED to go to, so fr we are failing on our misson.....

Today I worked on the main gift and I got to the quilting stage of my 1st doll quilt its very bright and out there, definitely not my colours but I have had fun anyway and tomorrow I'll quilt and bind it.

The dog is depressed because DH is away, the cats are loving it as they get to sleep on the bed at night, and the house is organised and clean and I have a sparkling kitchen :)

Its Gone :)

Its a girls weekend in from tonight :) DH is off to see his dad and will be on the plane right now, after realising I booked his flight home from Perth for Friday (oops) we had to pay another $87 to fix that up, not happy I can tell you.

I was 'treated' today with a new fry pan, DH was seriously bagging my $20 kmart fry pan that we have had for years and that I absolutely LOVE so I told him if he didn't like it to replace it, so he did with a gorgeous Scanpan fry pan, which came with its very own velvet bag lol.

Gosh I love this cat, Henry jammed himself into this fabric bowl I made for the shop. Its called a Bali Bowl and is made with a Bali Pop roll and 30 metres of cotton cord. It was fun to make but a wee bit to small for the fat boy

Poppy's quilt finally finished and is on the plane heading for Perth, before a red eye flight to Melbourne then another 3 hr flight to Far North Queensland, along with Baby C's quilt, her fishy and books for her big sister this time tomorrow he'll have his quilt :) I hope he likes it.

It was 100% finished except for the label at midnight last night. I am soooooo tired at the moment, the pattern is definitely NOT the quick and easy quilt as I assumed it was when I started to make it, lesson learned, next emergency quilt will be made with a 2 week time frame instead of a 3 day time frame.

no photo of my giveaway I forgot to take one and I think it deserves a post of its own :) so you'll just have to keep waiting :)
