through the trees we can see any ship that is in Port

our made over vegie patch, we have bok choy, cabbage, cauliflower,

snow peas and peas, celery, lots of herbs and 3 chili bushes, strawberries

and ?????

the 'extra' parking, there is a sheer drop at the edge of the grass

We are on a HUGE block of land, there are 5 HUGE pine trees and a

Norfolk Pine growing around the boundry, on one side is a pine tree

forest whch is crown land, the other side is the Seamans Wall of Rememberance

for the locals who have lost their lives at sea, fishing and the Rotary Lookout and park

we are the only house on this side of the street and have the best views in

town

I'm Back, temporarily

Having major issues getting our ADSL service here,

telstra are apparently working on the issue.

Who know when I will have my adsl back full time

so for now I have a pre paid mobile broadband stick....

So I have lots of photos to share of this house and garden

and I will do that a wee

bit later today

first I have to see if I can get my weeks worth of emails to download.

Anzac Day 2012

By candlelight. Our power went off today about 2:30 and at 6:43pm we are still in the dark :( Please please please Country energy can we have our power back. Otherwise we did the final bit of cleaning and the yard work at the old house today and finished off having a couple of drinks at the club with friends (in the dark) its been lovely but those 50kt winds have a bit of explaining to do, hence we have no power. Still without our Internet wish Telstra would pull their fingers out and connect us back up or Friday I will be calling them.

Hi Ho, Hi Ho

It's off to old house I go, today is cleaning day, well the bathrooms, kitchen cupboards and downstairs. We have done upstairs YAY.

In a dispute over our bond with our ex landlord, we broke our lease to move here, she has gone to contract to sell the house and now is refusing to give us our bond. To us we are being punished unfairly as she won't put tenants in it due to the sale so this afternoon I am ringing the residential tenants place for some advice.

Girlies are back at school today YAY and I have even done some sewing and have a little bit more quilting to do, binding on and as soon as I have the Internet back will share (hopefully today)

Henrycat is loving it here, at night he will willingly come and sleep on my lap after 5 years of refusing too.

We have no Internet

Will be back online early next week (I hope) waiting at the house for the Removalists to arrive with the big furniture, we did well and moved the girls rooms completely, the bedside tables and chest of drawers from my room, the kitchen is completely here and unpacked and Henrycat is hiding in the 2nd bathroom out of the way. My antique rocking chair is here too and all the quilts. Sewing room is set up just need to put my machine into its cabinet.

I cannot wait for today to be over have everything unpacked and be able to relax.

can't see the shipping traffic, and the ships can't see them.

Little Quilts

I had my final machine sewing session in this house today

I managed to get both my little quilts quilted.

Little Red Schoolhouse

finished size 16"x16"

Prairie Baskets

finished size 17"x17"

I am going to use Prairie Baskets on the hutch under the

fruit bowl and Little Red Schoolhouse is going to hang on

the wall in my new sewing room.

We got the keys today

so exciting, it all starts tomorrow

fingers crossed the rain holds off

latest weather update is

40-80mm....

and some not so good quality photo's (taken on my

and what I get to look at everyday, today the weather is crappy

so you will have to visualise blue skies

looking into where my sewing cabinet will sit, to the left will

be my cutting table and the wall you see will have my

design wall, there are bifold doors, so when we have

visitors I will just pull them shut

and the to die for view, I can see myself getting very distracted

sitting at this window, the master bedroom, living room and

Emma and Imogens room all get this view out of their

windows.

to the right of the pic is the vege garden, we will eventually be building a chook

pen in the opposite corner. Can't wait to actually move in and

call it home :)

This is what met you at the garage door on Sunday

lots and lots of boxes, the pile has grown since

I finished packing up my sewing room today,

took down my design wall :(

packed all my little quilts that were hanging up

took the skirt of the quilting frame

packed up all my cutting mats and rulers

but I just couldn't bring myself to pack my sewing machine

away, my current project or my little cutting mat

maybe tomorrow I will do that

I packed all the wine into boxes

dusted the hutch, tv, bookcases

packed up the crystal cabinet, have packed all

I can until we go

while I was busy downstairs, Sophie and her bestie Miss E

were upstairs playing monopoly with Henry

Emma was on a scout excursion, while she was out they went to the

rockpools to clean up the little beach and to look in the rockpools

all was good until she slipped on a rock

look at the mess she made of her knee, poor girl

Tomorrow we have Master A and Miss K coming over for a couple

of hours to have a final play with the girls before they leave on Thursday

(they lived in our new house, mum has a new Marine Pilots job up north)

and other than that we have no plans.

and the bestest news ever

Mum saw one of her Cancer doctors today and on her latest xray

her lung tumor has shrunk significantly she said that it was very

obvious before treatment and now its hard to see it. She is thrilled

SO AM I, I know that she will never be cured of it, but YAY YAY YAY

her horrid radiation and baby chemo has worked

A day of Rest!

Not in this house lol

I woke up, sent Miss Em and hubby off to soccer

put a venison roast into the slow cooker, 3 out of 5

liked the meat, Miss Imogen and I didn't enjoy it at all!

then got stuck into packing boxes.

I actually just wanted to sort out the kitchen, clean out the

cupboards of all that is unused and unwanted

10 + cartons later, we have the barest of essentials

left in the kitchen.

Cookbooks, plastic ware, baking dishes,

nick naks and my kitchen  timer collection,

mixing bowls and pyrex ware. Appliances that

won't be used in the next week, all PACKED

The top of the fridge is empty except for

2 yummy wire chicken baskets.

and hubby has carted the boxes from upstairs and my sewing

room into the garage

ready to load into the car on Thursday and take to the new house

I am very over removalist boxes.

So pleased its done though, there isn't much else I can pack

into boxes as the rest is going to be shifted as is, from the

wardrobes here straight into the wardrobes there.

I still haven't packed my sewing machine and I have a

couple of sneaky projects left out, I think tomorrow I might

have a 'mental health' day and sew, before I

have to pack the machine up.

Hurry Up Thursday, I want into the new house NOW!



So much going on

 its just so overwhelming and I am doing

everything I can to avoid doing what I 

need to do!

I have packed 1 room and the linen cupboard

tomorrow I am cleaning out the kitchen and I really

need a couple of hours at my sewing machine to finish of a

swap project.

I have until Thursday to get uber organised.....

I really hate moving, especially when I have to pack the house myself.

Miss Emma has her very first soccer game tomorrow

we went and got her boots, shorts, socks and

shin pads this morning.

Her game is in Merimbula so its an early start out the door

by 8:55 at the latest.

Then home to boxes........

My mama is finally home after a week in hospital

3 blood transfusions, daily radiation and 7 days

of IV antibiotics have her back on her feet.

She has 2 days left of radiation then a couple of weeks

break before she starts the 'big' chemo .

Thank you all for the well wishes for my mama

I really appreciated them all xxx

A OPAM Finish

and there is a good chance it will be my only finish

for April due to moving house

Hubby bought home the latest Homespun magazine on Saturday

on the cover was a gorgeous sewing machine cover

that I knew I needed to have.

Yesterday I made the time to sit and sew

but thanks to my iron (big scorch mark that will teach me for keeping

the old iron for sewing), the design has changed just a little

bit

isn't it cute, I am really happy with it.

Today I am working on a swap item, I need to get it made

before the weekend, so I can concentrate on the immense

task of packing the house, with the kids here......

roll on the evening of the 21st, we will be happily living

in the house on the hill.

Happy Easter

Good Friday we attempted to go fishing in dh work boat

sadly the fish also had a long weekend and were

nowhere to be found :)

Saturday Em went to her friends house, we had a potential buyer

of this house come through for a look and then we decided

we really needed to have a good look through our 'new house'

before we moved in, so Imogen came with us and we went

for a look, it's alot roomier than we realised, we planned who was

going into which bedroom, discovered that there really is nowhere for

our current fridge to live inside the house, plenty of room in the garage

for it, so came home via retravision to buy a new fridge

this is what we decided on

and this is what we currently have, although ours is 9 years old

 the girlies woke up to find the

easter bunny had been to visit and spread little eggs

all over their bedroom floors.

they enjoyed a breakfast of chocolate and hot cross buns

hubby and I had bacon and eggs and coffee.

Yesteray afternoon saw us visiting friends for an Easter drink, before

heading to a bbq with other friends, it was a late night

we didn't get home until midnight.

and today we decided to have another go fishing, we caught

enough for Henrycat to have a fresh fish feast.

I need to start organising myself this week to shif next week.

We get the keys Thurday morning, that will give me 2 days to

get everything bar the furniture over to the new house and

unpacked. The removalists are booked for the 21st and we have

a few friends with utes and trailers hepling out too, the only payment

they requested was beer and a feed at the end of the day,

that I can do.

I did get some time to sew on Saturday afternoon, I sewed up the last

of the hexagons for my Kaleidoscope Hexagon Quilt, now I just need

to finish stitch the centres on, and I have 2 small blocks to make to be

up to date with my hubby's New York Beauty quilt

and my mama, she is still in hospital, still hooked up to

an IV of antibiotics, she has had 2 or 3 blood transfusions and

in our daily text told me today she is very bored lol

she must be feeling better. Hopefully she will be home

tomorrow or Wednesday,

I hope your easter was as fun filled and as full of good times

as ours has been.

Needing prayers and positive thoughts

My mama has been admitted to hospital they think she has pneumonia, we need all the prayers and positive thoughts we can get right now as she really doesn't need this

I desperately wish I was there, I think a trip home will be happening sooner rather than later now

NYB progress

Last week I stuffed one of the New York Beauty blocks

really stuffed it

so I asked DH to print me off another copy and then discovered

that the original blocks had all been printed the WRONG SIZE

they were to small.

After thinking about it ALL NIGHT I decided to redo all

the blocks I had done the correct size

ta da the correct size blocks

This one is now complete with 4 blocks

This means I am up to date and ready to sew this weeks blocks, and my

stash of Batiks is shrinking quickly

I got back into my Hexagon centres last night, still have the final 25 to

sew together but the end is in sight.

and today I got some happy mail
