Show & Tell pt 2

This is my owl pincushion from Quilt Fabric Delights Pincushion of the month thingie they are doing. I am so happy with this little owl and he has already been pricked with pins. Poor Owly and I got a gorgeous little pin topper in my kit too

I will be back tomorrow night hopefully with a pictureof the completed quilt. And dd # 1's quilt is in the final stages of hand quilting, I have the zig zags on the side to finish off and then the binding to go on and finally a swim in the washing machine is needed :) she is getting very very excited lol but the pressure is on for the other girlies quilts to be done too.

its Show and Tell time

for pictures of my sampler quilt, well pictures of the blocks to share, tomorrow (tuesday) all these blocks will be in a quilt, so excited. There is a 9th block I just haven't gotten around to sewing it together, is a basket, tricky if I do say so. Out of all the blocks the only one I will never do again if I can avoid it is the card trick, didn't enjoy that one at all.

Phew

Its not broken, just very badly sprained.

They sent him away with painkillers, a pressure bandage, a tube grip ???? on it and told him to give up skateboarding. When I asked if he was going to retire the board I was greeted with HEll No lol, I really wish he would though.

Finished

my first stitchers angel present today, I also worked on gift number 2 and just have to decide on colours for gift number 3, so very happy at the moment.

My boy is in Qld, he landed at 4:45am EST and has been at the local hospital since around 5pm EST, it would seem my skateboard loving boy has for the THIRD time, fractured his wrist, last time he did it ( 12 months ago) they told him he would need to have some surgery on it if it happened again. I am still waiting to hear the final verdict.

DD#1's quilt is coming along nicely, I am up to quilting the inner blocks then I need to do the zig zag on the edge. She is getting very excited. I'll get a picture tomorrow

Tomorrow (Tuesday) is my last introduction class. I have completed 8 blocks using black and whites it looks great, we are doing a basket block tomorrow when its done I'll put it on the 'wall' and get some pics of it too I need to show mum, next term I am doing an applique class and a lighthouse wall thingie. Should be fun.

School ends this week for 2 weeks, DH has the first week off so we will be heading out for some exploring days. I would love to go and see the wildflowers in the national park and there is a spot he has been told about that he wants to check out which is about 60ks away and in week 2 my baby turns FIVE :( I think we are getting her a dolls house and ds bought her a snow white dress up because she NEEDS it apparently lol.

now to a quilty fabric request

Can anyone recommend a shop that sells Reproduction Prints online, I need 6 metres for the top. Its for a quilt that DH really likes.

My table runner which is red and white has had curry spilt on itby a girlie or 3, I washed it this morning and there are still yellow spots on the white :(

any ideas on what to use to get it out????

Who knew

that hand quiting could be so.........well so difficult lol.

I have unpicked all the quilting I had done, because I didn't like the result of the 'quilting pattern' I (and I use this term very loosely) designed, which for the record was just lines stepping down. So last night I sat at the kitchen table until 9pm, and started stitching again, this time double stitchingaround all the blocks and then I will do another row of double stitching in the centre of each block, all I can say is

TIGER TAPE, love this stuff, means I have evenly spaced stitches, on the top at least lol.

Stitches angel update is this,

I still have the hand sewing to do on one,

I need to sew suprise number 2 together (maybe tomorrow)

and I have narrowed down the suprise number 3 list to ONE so I just need to get organised and do it and gather some other little bits to send too my aim is to be postal by the end of the month,in 12 days time lol

I will get lots of quilting done tomorrow night, I am off to a girlfriends scrap group get together not that I have scrapped anything for at least 6 months, should be a fun night and it means I get to leave the house alone.....and after dark.

I am off to assembly today so excited for my girlie, I wil take my camera so look out for some pics of my girlie and her award, I had to take both biggish girlies to the dentist yesterday our appointment was at 10:10 and we were in the car on the way back to school by 10:19 lol, neither have to go back until dec 09.

I would share a picture of ds quilt that my mum made him for his 18th birthday which is airing on the line under the deck roof BUT its flapping up around the roof of the deck the wind is so strong today, so maybe another day.

yep I am FINALLY hand quilting dd#1's quilt that she has asked my daily for the last 4 months r so have I finished it yet...........

I hope in a few days I will be able to say

hope is the word I am concentrating on at the moment lol.

and in the last picture, that is actually a ball of pearl 8 cotton, black cotton, the added colour is from Henry who got hold of the cotton last night and had a fabulous time chasing it all over the floor, hence the splashes of ginger fur, so I am off today to replace the cotton as I really can't be bothered de furring it all.

and Henry strikes again lucky I adore this lil ball of fur, so glad I decided to replace my cotton in town this morning lol

exciting stuff happening here too, well at school ,tomorrow for one of the girlies, but remember

its a secret lol

and ds leaves tomorrow for a new life in Queensland :( I think I am going to miss him........and I know the girlies will miss him has been a popular topic here and funny to hear what they will and won't miss about him lol. The joys of kids.

Its the weekend

and as its blowing an absolute gale (61kph gusts) here its going to be a great weekend for some sewing/stitching.

Yesterday I managed to get together my Stitchers Angel gift # 1, it just needs some hand sewing done and its ready to go postal, I managed to start on gift # 2 and thanks to the weather will get quite a bit of that done this weekend too. So that will just leave gift # 3 of which I still have to narrow it down to just 1.

The wind, well its strong, strong enough to send the trampoline halfway across 5 acres.......poor girlie's they only got it on Thursday, it was a round one with a net, today its just a round one, the net poles were bent and the net itself tore when it went for its roll ..... at least the tramp itself is ok, its just net less lol and we loved getting up at 6am in cold antarctic winds and collecting the bits.

So today's agenda is sewing for me, the girlie's have a birthday party to go to this morning then tonight we are supposed to be going to a 40th birthday party for a guy DH works with, but DH has to work tonight so not sure if we will get there for it. DS is working too and at some stage I really need to do some housework, I wish the cleaning fairy's would come and visit.

Oh and the big excitement for this week is............

next weekend I will have a SEWING ROOM! YIPPEE it will be nice to have a designated space to work in and not have to pack up every time we want to use the dining table.

I hope its warm and not so windy where ever you are

and at the patchwork shop today there was a delivery of some YUMMY fabrics, that as soon as it is unpacked I will be getting me some, perfect for mums christmas present :)
