Pie's & Tarts

Here is month 1 complete

and because the weather is rather blah today, I made sausage rolls for lunch, I meant to take a photo but I forgot oops, will get one BEFORE the troops come home from Bunnings and eat them. Will share it soon.

I am snowed under with the washing today I have done 4 loads with 1 more to go and I have 1 load in the dryer which is almost done and no idea how many more dryer loads to go. That will teach me for letting it pile up. Its 6 days worth plus towels and a quilt

lesson learned lol

Productive Progress

Month 1 of the Pie's and Tart's BOM is finished

Month 2 is all cut out and I started basting the paper pieces and fabric tonight at sewing

month 3 is cut out ready to be basted

I am trying to get caught up as month 4 will be here in a couple of weeks eek!

SO this weekend I plan on sewing my pie's and tarts each night and getting my red work pillow made and hopefully a little something else made too.

Otherwise we have not much else planned

Its Anzac Day tomorrow we aren't going to the dawn service but I will take the girlie's into the memorial tomorrow to pay our respects.

School goes back on Wednesday

Poor Poor Henry

Henry has just come home from the vet.

He had to suffer an injection of steriods to boost his immune system, then he got his nails cut to save our skin, then he had to get 2 patches shaved, he wasn't very happy cat by the time we left.

So our new plan of attack for Henry is still tablets twice a day and now we get the joy of giving him a bath twice a week until the fur starts growing back on his bald patches

I think I am going to encourage my girlies to be vets, there is a fair bit of money to be made in being a vet lol, they have gotten $500 from us in 2 visits this week lol lol lol

my house is quiet DH has taken the girlie's to the movies to see Race to Witch Mountain I should be doing washing but as its pretty miserable I might save that til tomorrow.

Silence is golden :)

Its Raining Its Pouring

so much for our lovely day

by the time we got to town to get some of daddy's money it was raining so instead of sliding we bought some games and some lunch and came home.

We have played Piranha Panic and Uno and girlie number 3 is a Uno shark lol

I went to sewing and when I arrived there was no power, we have no idea why the power was out so we had a cuppa by candlelight then all went to the bosses house for sewing instead :) so I will have to collect my mini iron in the morning! I have managed to get 5 pies sewn to the backgrounds, I am hoping that tomorrow night I can start on month 2's pies and tarts.

As I drove down the driveway I noticed we have lost a tree, it was dead and has been used by us a marker for where the ditch is........well not any more, no doubt there will be a few more down in the light of day, and temperature wise its cold, at 4:30pm is was 15 degrees I have my uggs and a woolly cardi on tonight!!!!

Here's hoping the weather clears up by Friday when we are attempting to go sliding again. DH has the day off tomorrow so I can do the groceries with 1 girlie instead of 3 and I can take Henry to the vet without them :)

Its a lovely day today

Harry is recovering nicely and he is chasing a grasshopper across the floor lol, so much for being kept calm and quiet for 10 days lol

Henry has escaped outside he knew tablet time was coming. Henry rumbled me as I have been hiding his tablets in his food so now he won't eat his food if I give it to him..........tomorrow we will know if the pills are working fingers crossed as I don't want a bald cat lol lol lol

one girlie is looking for food lol oops now they all are!!!!

I am about to turn the iron on, cut 10, 8x8" background blocks and baste my pies onto the backgrounds ready for sewing on

In about an hour we are off to town to get daddy's money (lol) and go to the giant slides (if they are up) for some fun, hence the need for some sewing to be ready.

This afternoon I need to get busy with my redwork cushion swap, the redwork is done and has been done for MONTHS, I just need to finish the cushion. I do hope my recipient is happy with what I have done and I can't wait to share it with you all when she has it.

I have sewing tonight :) yay I am going to collect my Clover Mini Iron and a sweet roll of Aviary by 3 Sisters (Moda love) and I am going to use my jelly roll backpack that I made to cart my pies and tarts in :) :) :)

I Survived

a way to early start to my day

8 kids!

We have baked

we made cupcakes, brownies and scones and had bbq sausages for lunch yum yum yum

we talked alot, M and S picked the patterns for the quilts I am going to make them with the fabric we found in an old suitcase that was their mums, and I am sure when they have their sad days they will snuggle up to them and know that a bit of their late mum is in their quilts

the girlie's all played Sing star and Buzz on the PlayStation

the biggest boy mowed for me

the littler boys just were little boys and rode bikes, played with their remote controlled cars and generally did boy stuff

DH's best mate tried to pull a fast one on us by doctoring a newspaper clipping, but YAY for me I rumbled him badly and sent him some photo shop tips ie always scan the article straight and to use the same font as the rest of the article lol that alone has made my day

Harry cat is home he is fast asleep a lil bit groggy and won't talk to me at all :( and amazingly he doesn't have ringworm! Henry is booked in on Thursday for his check and a restock of his tablets, poor Henry he really isn't feeling to well.

Right I am off to get comfy on the couch with my tarts (the pies are done for month 1 anyway)and get settled for Underbelly.

I get to spend the day with EIGHT children!

aged 12, 11, 10, 8, 7, 7, 7 and 5. (5 girls and 3 boys)

Ohhhhh I am a bit concerned actually, more what to do with them all as I can't fit 9 people in a 5 seater car so we are house bound for the day! LOL should be fun

and poor lil Harry cat is off to the vets for the day, he is being microchipped, vaccinated and de sexed, poor Harry, then Henry is off to the vet on Thursday for a check and more tablets.....oh I love welding gloves lol.

Decisions, decisions

is what I need to make.

DH and I HAD planned on going to Perth next month so I could go to the Quilt West exhibition and to the craft show that is on and to collect our new tent on wheels

but

I was told tonight that DH has to be in Perth on the 18/5 to do 2 course thingies for work, so that has stuffed my plans as we weren't coming home until the 18th lol, anyway, DH has said I can fly up for the day so I can attend but is it worth us spending close on $1000 so I can look at divine quilts and hopefully lots of fabric.

a tough decision I need to make and I need to make it in the next day so I can get the 2nd cheapest flight available lol

Otherwise it was a diorama of a day, the girlies have painted the insides of their boxes and drawn and coloured there other bits and tomorrow we glue.........

I have been to sewing tonight I managed to cut out all the pie and tart pieces for months 2 and 3 lol, I am planning on taking this project on our trip in August I can sew my way north and its a long drive from here. I am hoping to have them all basted before we go and I will have months 4,5,6 and 7 also lol. We had a delivery today of clover products to I was sent home with the Clover Rose maker and the CLover puff maker thingie, I know EXACTLY what I am going to make with the puff thingie too, the rose maker I was doing well with tonight until I sewed through the pattern, lol, then snapped the thread trying to unstick the pattern piece lol. I will share my progress tomorrow along with diorama delights, the completed longstitch fairy (she is on longstitch projejct number 2) and the work quilt.

Tired

of 2.5inch blocks lol I have cut and sewn together 88 just for the side borders which are now sewn on and then another 104 for the top and bottom borders which are both pinned to the top, my shoulders and neck are aching so I am not doing it tonight, which means tomorrow I can get stuck into the applique of course once I have finished pinning it all in place.

so here is what the top looked like yesterday

and as soon as the other 2 borders are sewn on I will take a photo and share it too

DD # 1 is right into her long stitch she has almost finished it and dd # 2 asked for a particular ball of wool for her knitting nancy lol so we are off to get the wool and a new long stitch tomorrow.

I thought it might be fun for the girlie's to make a diorama 3D thingie each. We have the boxes, glue, texta's and pencils, paper, cardboard, scissors ( still can't believe I BOUGHT them scissors lol), sticky tape but someone forgot to buy the paint and brushes and of course when someone remembered the toy shop was shut oops, and the girlie's are busting to get creating........heaven help me lol, we are also going to buy a new game, we have a great collection of kids games and always start the holidays with a new addition I wonder what they will pick

Possibly TMI and Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone, we have had a great day. We had friends for breakfast, 6 adults 8 kids so we ate pancakes and pikelets, bacon and eggs, toast and hot cross buns, tea, coffee and orange juice, then we locked the kids in the hallway with an adult at each door and hid eggs,lollipops and chocolate around the garden and allowed them out from youngest to oldest, the kids had a great time.

The girlie's received a chocolate bunny, some kinder surprises the older girlie's each got a long stitch, the littlest girlie received a Dora art box thingie nd the all got HSM 3 to share.


and the TMI

Henry cat is sick

an infectious sick

which he caught from the girlie's...

which they caught from school and we treated and cleared up

he has ringworm

ewwwww

the vet said he was glowing brightly under the ringworm finding light.

Henry is currently dropping two tablets a day (for the next 3 weeks then possibly for 3 more), after food which is the only part of it that he loves

as a result I am off to buy some new pill poppers on Tuesday as he has almost destroyed the first

DH is chief kitty wrangler for pill time, his chosen armour is a pair of welding gloves after we both bore the brunt of a very crabby cat, DH has a hand covered in deep claw marks, I had the experience of giving him pill # 1 on my own and ended up with a tooth in each side of my thumb, which was very very painful and I might have said a few naughty words, but I got that pill in him

Harry is RW free ATM but he is being constantly checked

unfortunately the girlie's and all have rings appearing

DH and I are both clear we are having so much fun NOT lol

I do have a photo at last of the quilt for work, which is looking great, and I want to keep it, I am hoping to finish it this week and send it off to the quilting lady, I have some applique and 3 more borders to do, but one of those borders uses 2.5 inch squares and I think I need to cut 92......but I have to find the camera, I think it is buried in amongst the fabric mess on the dining table oops,

SO check back for a photo or two sometime tomorrow.

I entered Helena's pattern giveaway that she was having to celebrate the opening of her new shop and I was lucky enough to win her Dancing Flowers pattern, it will be for dd#2 the only one in the house without her own quilt made by me she is rather excited.

and I am happy because

I have a 'borrowed beast' well its still in the car but its here WOO HOO and will be worked hard tomorrow for sure but before that I have a bit of a to do list including

* Taking Henry to the vet

* doing some food shopping

* collecting some keys

* having coffee with the girls at work.

and I had an OOPS today too *lol*

I sent DH on a licorice strap hunt because girlie's 1 & 2 had a shared lunch thingie happening at school tomorrow.

DD#2 asks where dad and the other two girlie's are I told her at the supermarket getting what we need to make some spider cupcakes for the lunch tomorrow

A Request

I am looking for a pattern that will utilise a fat quarter bundle of Moda Aviary by 3 sisters.I have been to the Moda Bake Shop with no luck, well there is a stunning one but its getting the extra fabric that I need in Australia, perhaps someone can point me to an Australian online store that sells the Moda Aviary on the bolt.......

Can anyone help?????

Otherwise the beast still isn't happy it turns out a cog was the issue but now all the timing is out and the auto cutter won't cut and the needle is hitting something so if it can't be fixed here by our sewing machine man its off to Perth, I am very blessed though as my boss has one for her quilting frame which she isn't using so I am going to borrow that until mine is fixed or replaced.

and the computer is unlocked took Jason all of 10 minutes to fix it, YIPPEE now I am back to re loaded my programs like Dear Jane and Dear Hannah and my favourite Mahjong

We had some more Moda Love arrive today I bought home a jelly roll of Snippets by American Jane which I am going to use for Rosalie Quinlan's Jelly Roll bag and there is a fat quarter bundle of Snippets but I am in two minds over that one, we also received Neptune JR, Basket of Flowers JR, SR and fat 1/4 bundles, and Patisserie SR and JR and a HUGE book order, email me if you are interested in some of our Moda Love we are happy happy happy to post anywhere.

Its Back

The computer that is, I dropped the printer in this morning on the way to work and had it all back by noon, it did take some over the phone assistance to get the computer and the router to co operate but we managed it :)

But the beast isn't so well, rumour has it that the beast is going on holidays to Perth.......... it could be the motherboard ..... I will know more tomorrow lucky I have Pinkie.

Our camper is ordered and I am rather excited to be going away TWICE in 3 months lol once to Perth for the Quilt West Exhibition/ Craft show thingie that's on and to collect the camper and then when we go away the girlie's are very very excited and here is a photo of the camper trailer we are getting ours is Blue and Grey and where the fly screen room is we are getting canvas instead with windows.

as much as I would love to have a caravan, I think this will suit us more and hey I can rough it every now and then lol.

Henry cat is off to the vet on Thursday he is losing his fur so he is off to be checked out. Only 3 more days until school holidays I wonder if the Easter bunny will come to me????

The Bugs have spread

The beast is going to see Ed the sewing machine repair man tomorrow :( :( :(

I was happily sewing along minding my own 1/4inch seam when the beast had a hissy fit beeped at me and stopped and is now refusing to sew :( :( :( and I was on a roll with my sewing too.

Thank heavens for Pinkie, she was pulled out of the cupboard where she has been resting and woo hoo I am back to 1/4 inch seams and not quite on point blocks. I have been working on the quilt I am making for the shop, I have done the centre medallion, I have added the 1st and 2nd borders and have 1 side left to complete the 3rd border, 4th border is some more applique then that just leaves me with 3 more borders lol, as soon as my pesky bug filled laptop is back I will share some photos, and hopefully tomorrow night the beast will be back in business

Now firstly I have to say I love my husband but at the moment Jason the computer man is my hero, he has been trying to fix my laptop without having to wipe and restore, alas for me he has had to wipe and restore :( and I got to spend Thursday hunting for all the operating discs, I wasn't able to locate the XP recovery discs oops, photoshop 7 bigger opps, the printer software oops again nor my camera software oop, oops and oops again, but jason the legend has fixed it all for me bar photoshop 7 which if anyone has I would LOVE to borrow it, same day turnaround postage wise :) :) :) anyone..... no tomorrow I get to drop the printer in so he can download something that will make it work again once its connected to my laptop. We never loaded to software onto DH's so we are printer free and the moment.

We had the funeral on Friday, it was as lovely as a funeral could be and I especially loved it when they released helium balloons at the end..

We have also decided to purchase a camper trailer, and in August we are going away for 3 weeks, we will be going to Port Denison and Canarvan with 2 other couples and 8 kids :) DH is ordering it tomorrow and we are hoping to collect it mid may when we head to Perth for the big craft show that is coming to WA. We are both looking forward to getting away.

I've been corrupted :(

well my XP operating system has been :(

it wouldn't do anything for the computer tech, so he is currently doing a big nasty virus scan and if it comes up clear on that then they are going to have to WIPE everything on it and I am going to have to start from scratch again which will be fun for me NOT as I have no idea where my, XP recovery discs are, photoshop 7 disc is, nor my printer discs and as for the camera disc's NO FLIPPING IDEA, but he assured me that they will back everything up first.........

so fingers crossed its just a nasty virus and tomorrow won't be an expensive day for me :)

I have commandered DH's computer in the mean time, although I need to find his mouse, touchpads are just way to irritating for me :)

I better run I have to collect the girlies from the bus stop and then 2 of them have tap dancing in 19 minutes and it takes 10-15 to get to town oops.
