Brush it, straighten it if its too unruly and thats it

In no order - Silent Witness, Lark Rise to Candleford, Luther, Midsomer Murders,The Straits, SVU and NCIS, (I know thats more than 5)

Kids upstairs watching tv, birdies singing, Lark Rise to Candleford
6. Who was the last person you hugged?

My husband
7. What did you have for lunch?

I can't say it was naughty.

8. What did you do today?

woke up, drank coffee, organised the girlies, cleaned up the after breakfast mess, showered, blogged, had coffee wth dh at work, printed off the New York Beauty patterns, raided the stash, sewed, blogged again, visited the supermarket, picked up kids from school
9. Dog person or cat person?

like you need to ask, cat cat cat
10. If you had to change your name, what would you change it to?

Ummmm.

11. What was the last thing that you bought?

potatoes for dinner and the newspaper
12. If you could afford to go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Nepal, USA, Antarticia, Alaska
13. Where do you see yourself in five years?

I'd like to say living back in Tasmania, otherwise in the House on the Hill here in Eden will do, but as long as my family is happy and healthy, then all will be well

15. What are you doing this weekend?

Ummm, Miss Em has a friend coming over Saturday, housework, washing, cooking, sewing,

Piano
17. How tired are you?

at the moment I am not, ask me again as I am heading to bed
18. What are you plans for the rest of the day?

Feeding the family dinner, finding something to stitch in front of the tv tonight
19. What's your drink?

Coffee, flat white please, water, Bacardi and coke, diet coke
20. If you could buy anything, for no reason, with no budget, what would you buy?

A Gammill (spell) longarm quilter and frame, BMW, fabric lots and lots of fabric

It got the better of me

mind you it doesn't take too much to sidetrack

me :) and its not like I don't have anything else I should be

sewing

but this quilt along has sucked me in

so I dug out my batik fabrics

these are the patterned

these are the solids

I just hit the motherload of Batiks, hiding in my stash were 4

bali pops, Bali Pops are Robert Hoffmans answer to jelly rolls

2.5" strips of lots and lots of batiks :)

the following 3 photos are the remaining 3 parts of block 1, all prepped

just waiting for the copies to make it home

and 1 part of block 1 is finished (3 more to make), dh is printing  off some

more copies for me :)

and when its finished I hope it resembles this, because this is the

quilt  I dh likes and this one is finally going to be for us him

I think 2012 is going to be my stash busting year, everything I have made

has been from my stash, I hve only had to buy backing fabrics and wadding

go me.

Frank is getting a workout

Remember my Pies and Tarts??

I have finally decided its time to be quilted,

on Frank the quilty beast as soon as dh comes home for lunch

frank will be taken out of his corner, and the P&T's loaded on

 I thought I would do a small pebble design on it,

the big question is do I pebble the pies and tarts or just between them......

and this

has started, and I am VERY tempted to join in, I have a fat quarter bundle of

batiks in my sewing room..........

so so tempting

and as soon as the P&T's is finished Frank will be reloaded

with my In the Garden quilt, I finished all the little bits I had missed

last night, the thinking cap is on for a quilting design, I don't want to stipple it, and I don't

want to quilt into the applique blocks, nor do I want to just stitch in the ditch...

suggestions anyone???

Granny Squares

and then there were 11

today I spent a couple of hours cutting up my Ruby stash

into 2.5" squares, then the Moda white into

2.5" squares, that meant I only had enough time to

sew another 9 squares up :(

I do love these little squares and cannot wait until all the blocks

are done. I will be heading to Merimbula on Friday to get some

more white fabric for the sashing and boarders

Today was towel washing day, look at my little

henrycat, he is such a character, I couldn't find him this afternoon

he was asleep in the girlies dirty laundry basket (there wasn't anything it)

so I got him out of the basket and he proceeded to hop onto the

towels for a snooze, where he still is. How could you go mad at

that gorgeous little face

Today

I cleaned the house, caught up on the washing

then headed downstairs to my sewing room to find

a pattern for Master A's quilt.

This is what I found

Master A is only 3 so it should do him for a few years

I decided to make Miss K a quilt of

Granny Squares using my stash of

Ruby by Bonnie and Camille

there is a fabulous tutorial here

the tutorial is for a

4 blocks wide, 5 blocks long quilt

I want it to fit a single bed so I thought

I would make a 5 wide, 6 long top

I finished this block over the weekend

and have 1 ohio star left to make to have block 2

finished, but I got sidetracked by Granny Squares

maybe I will get it done tomorrow.

Big Big Weekend

and I was suffering BIG TIME when I woke up this morning.

Yesterday dh and I became godparents to

2 very sweet little people

Miss K and Master A

after the christening we went back to their house for

lunch, drinkies and lots of laughs, dinner, more drinkies

and more laughter

I have no idea what time it was when we finally made it home,

I suffered from the dreaded hangover today

I wanted to make some more hexagons but my head

just wasn't up to the hum of my sewing machine

instead I sat on the couch with my Christmas Fun

buttons, water and panadol and stitched block 2, tomorrow I will sew it

together and that means I am on to block 3

they are so small so stitch up very quickly :)

tomorrow I might sit down and do the last of the

handstitching on In My Garden and get it ready

to start the quilting process, and I need to stitch the binding

onto Miss Em's new quilt which has been waiting to be finished

since July....yep July 2011, you just can't rush these things and Miss

Em will be very impressed to have her new quilt finally on her bed.

Time well spent

I have sewn some more hexagons and have another 18 waiting to

be sewn together

I found my Christmas Fun buttons

and fabrics

bought the floss yesterday

and have the first block ready to stitch tonight

and the applique ready to sewn on

and I have done some work on my SKoW

I think I am good until the end of May :)
