What are some of the 'signs' apart from infidelity

***we had a discussion at sewing on how you know its over, and I just want to know what everyone else thinks the 'signs' are d/h and I are all good ***

I was at sewing tonight (well it is Wednesday) and remembered about 8:30pm WST that the State of Origin would be very very close to finishing due to the time difference so I jumped on the net, did a cockroach stomping happy dance (lol) because the MIGHTY MAROONS kicked some blue butts :) and went back to sewing on the binding of baby C's quilt which I collected last week from the quilting lady who has done a magnificent job.

So where have I been and what have I been doing???

I have unpacked, marked off, priced and stacked a big delivery of wool, DMC threads, tapestry skiens, I unpacked some GORGEOUS fabrics today and tomorrow will be stocking up on them as they will walk out the door when they hit the floor. We have a HUGE sale starting Monday 50% off ALL fabric in the store....its going to be crazy for the next couple for weeks

I have done some crochet

I finished my knitted scarf and I am just waiting for a cold enough day to wear it :)

I done the fun stuff too like washing, folding, cleaning, cooking

I still haven't used the Beast since he came home from Perth......I was all set to on the weekend but the pattern instructions I have aren't very clear so I came to a very quick standstill one of tomorrow's jobs is to work it out.

I know I keep saying there are photos to share and there are but girlie # 3 has been using my camera and I think dh has it at work to empty the memory card.

Girlie # 2 is getting a merit certificate at school tomorow :)

I received my pincushion swap partner and my paper bag swap partner so the PB is going via express post tomorrow and I think I have found the pattern for my pincushion partner so its all good there.

oh and did I mention QUEENSLAND won the State of Origin :)

2, 4, 6, 8, 10

We had a delivery of pins at work last week. 5012 to be exact

Knowing that I would be the lucky one who got to bag them up I had the smart idea of the girlies doing the actual counting, as they had a long, long weekend and need to be occupied lol

I can still hear 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 in my head lol and they all spent their 'earnings' at Red Dot lol

school is back tomorrow phew.

Lost Cat

no not my boys, there are happily snuggled up fast asleep in the warmth,

but

'Montgomeron' aka 'Monty the handsme boy' has gone walkabout. My poor mum is distraught at the thought of her boy out in the cold and the worst part is 'he missed his dinner' and the other cats are fretting for him. We have heard rumours that cats are being stolen in Mum's area so fingers crossed he is just locked in a shed somewhere.

otherwise

the girlies have had an extended weekend, due to their teachers having PD days (Friday, Monday and today) tomorrow they are back to school.

So yesterday the cherubs counted 2500 pins into piles of 10 then I bagged them in bags of 50 and you know what.....we only have another 2500 to go today lol, I bribed them with money, its sweatshop wages ($2.50 per 1000) but they are happily counting away lol

we had the weekend weather from hell, Saturday was a balmy 12 degrees, MAX , wet, windy and downright COLD our minimum was 9 degree's and Sunday wasn't much better except we had NO wind or rain but it was cold cold cold.

Hang onto your Hats

its blowing a gale and a half here.

We have been put on a Severe Weather Warning and the front that went through SW WA this morning is expected here tonight.

So the girlies and I have put away all the toys outside, put all the outdoor furniture away, moved the BBQ, made a bed for the naughty puppy in the garage, and now we wait.

I am not a lover of windy situations, cyclone Larry saw to that and DH is away in Perth until tomorrow night so I am hopeful that we will wake in the morning to lots of rain and no trees down and to POWER rofl. You see if our power goes out we have no running water, no flushing loo's and no coffee until the saucepan boils on the stove, luckily we have a gas stove.

The joy's of living a coastal lifestyle I guess.

3 Days

3 long frustrating days, lots of muttering under my breath, countless opinions and unraveling and re starting, the odd toss of the crochet hook and having to unwind Harry from the wool

but tonight

I can proud declare that

I can crochet a granny square!

I have never crocheted in my life until saturday afternoon, I am feeling rather clever and I can highly reccommend the book I learnt from 'Meet Me at Mike's' by Pip Lincolne and there are some fabulous other projects in there too.

I am off to the bookshop in town tomorrow as I found Material Obsession 2 there the other day so I am hoping no one else 'had to have it' and its still on the shelf.

I watched Nights in Rodanthe on Monday night, tomorrow night I shall be watching Slumdog Millionaire and hopefully over the weekend Australia.

the naughty puppy is off for a check up tomorrow then have to work for a couple for hours, get some groceries and we are having chicken and barley soup for dinner tomorrow night its going to do its thing in the slow cooker. We are in for some cruddy weather so soup is on our menu and we will be having homemade pumpkin soup over the weekend too.

and I am going to a quilt exhibition in town, we are lucky enough to have 'Under Flynn's wings' quilt exhibition here this week, depicting and celebrating 80 years of service in Australia of our Royal Flying Doctor Service, I'll have to go tomorrow as the girlies have a 5 day weekend starting Friday so the bigger girlies are going to learn some basic stitching, I enlarged 2 patterns and got everything they need to do it both are very excited.

only 2 more big sleeps until DH is home :)

A referendum means

no to daylight savings for Western Australia





and I am SAD about that.





I grew up with daylight savings and it wasn't until we moved to Queensland that I really missed it.





For us daylight savings means that when daddy gets home from work at 6:30pm its still light enough for him to have some outside fun with the girlie's.......now it will be pitch black and no fun to be had outside





daylight savings means bbq's and lots of fun outside until at least 9pm





daylight savings means I can ring my mum and dad at 7pm and know that they will be able to talk, next summer we are going to have to pay TOP dollar to telstra just to be able to say hi and make sure that all is okay with them :( so not fair.





but referendum day 2009 also means my littlest girlie had her first sleep over ........ I was a bit shocked at that one, I was at a UFO day at work and came home to find my baby missing, she is just around the corner and took her smilie bear with her and I have to say the house is very very quiet without her lol, but it doesn't 'feel' right and I am looking forward to seeing her in the morning :)





I learnt to crochet today, I can do chain stitch, double crochet and treble crochet stitch and another one but I can't remember the name lol. and I have to say its much easier than I thought it would be. I offered to crochet DH a mankini roflmao, he declined lol. So exciting lol





no sewing I have been very very slack. My work days are back to normal this week and as DH did the housework today ( my hero) I can sew on Monday I am going to set up Pinkie on the dining table and finish the applique on the quilt for work, well that is the plan. The beast is home but I am a bit 'scared' of using him, in case something else goes wrong so maybe Monday I should have a play with it.
