whilst blog hopping tonight I came across this on Maree's blog (and I pinched her piccie)

and I want this magazine because I want to make the Chook wall hanging on the cover

cause its just way to gorgeous not to be hanging on my wall

has anyone seen this in their newsagents?? I haven't

I really WANT this magazine, if you could help I would be most appreciative

will trade for fabric or $$ or something

Stitches and Craft show goodies

Goodies from the show, this is for the girlies to make in the next school holidays, will take me that long to get the courage to try and teach them, lol, will be fun as I am left handed and they are all right handed.

my bobbin holder won't co-operate with the camera so I will share that later when it decides to co-operate.

Its a quiet weekend here, overcast and blah outside, Miss I has a birthday afternoon tea today so other than that we are staying home in the warm, with movies and sewing. Its going to be a great day :)

Stitches and Craft Show and a Grrrrr

today Mum, Mrs Helen and I drove to Hobart to attend the Stitches and Craft show, at the Entertainment centre, I thought it was going to be very similar to Melbourne, alas I was wrong. It is geared to all crafts, beading, dolls, felting etc with only a handful of patchwork stands.

I saw Jo and Fiona who were both FLAT OUT I didn't want to interupt so I didn't say Hi (sorry girls) and Helen who was also FLAT OUT, we saw lots of DIVINE quilts in the quilt show

Having said that I did leave with goodies that I will share tomorrow. Right now I am having a calming drink after a very scary experience on the way DOWN involving my lil car and a truckies mudflap that was lying on the road, that the car head of me flicked up which of course HIT my car, and scared the living daylights out of me,it wasn't until we were trying to locate the back way to the Entertainment centre and I had pulled off the road to consult to street directory that I realised the car has some  issues that need sorting

So Monday I get to go to the smash repairers for a quote to have the bumper replaced as its cracked and come off on 1 side, the fog light replaced as its all out of position and the bottom grill that is only held on by the right hand side clips, then we make the decision to pay ourselves or claim it on insurance and of course that is just how I wanted to spend my Monday

NOT HAPPY JAN!

Paid a delightful visit to The Quilted Crow, I bought a pattern and some wool felt stuff. went to Howards storage world for an ironing board hanger uperer on the back of the door, for the sewing room, we had some lunch and then did our return trip stopping only at Campbell Town for a pit stop, all in all it was a great day and I am glad to be home.

I will sleep well tonight thats for sure.

and the best thing is I came home to find the ironing fairy had been :) :) :) I have an empty ironing basket.....

I can see clearly now

all the shrubbery has gone from the front of the house.

The tree lopper dudes finally arrived yesterday with their big noisy mulcher thingie and chopped, shredded and left, with all the chopped up tree bits too.

Just doesn't seem the same without the shrubbery there lol.

On to Sewing, well I have been busy sewing the sawtooth star blocks together, I went with the 6 blocks x 8 rows, I just have 1 block to finish off then I will habe all 8 rows sewn together, todays deliema is do I just sah them with the plain fabric or do I add a cornerston of blue????

I am tempted to do them plain, but the girlies x 2 said with the blue.....

oh the decisions.

Off to the craft fair tomorrow with Mum and Mrs H, we are heading down after I have dropped to girlies off at school, Dad is going to pick them up, drop one at a party them come home here until we are back.

Hoping to find some yummy charm squares as there is a quilt I want to make...pattern arrived yesterday.

Spoke to my man too, well via sms messages lol, he has lost his sea legs after being on land for 2 years, said they were rolling all around. poor baby, he is home at the end of the month, yippee cause do we have some jobs that need to be done around here, at least it will be a bit warmer outside while he rebuilds walls, and builds 2 retaining walls, and some raised garden beds and re-does the path  goat track down the side of the house.

Oh the joys of coming home after working away.

We finally have a crate free wardrobe, I took the plunge this morning and pulled them out 1 by 1 and I have folded, stacked, sorted and purged fabric, lots of fabric, what was in these crates are now in 3 underbed crates, they contain patterns, yardage, fat 1/4's, backing fabrics stuff like that.

each star block is 8 inches

A Fabric cupboard in Manland the sewing room, those baskets are the next to be sorted out in this room

Fabric Buckets, 2 need the hard base put in, and I still need to sew the binding down.

Its freezing cold and I have bulbs about to flower, weird

My dad dug out 2 bushes that I LOATHED from the top garden bed

When dh is home we are going to replace the timber wall, it looks like there is a rock wall

behind the timber, that might just need rebuilding, if not interlocking blocks will go up

Dad also rebuilt the little rock wall at the top of the steps to dh shed, the removalists made it collapse as the used it as a step!

and dad has been extending our steps to dh shed, dh gets the job of motarting them in

You know how I 'pruned' the roses,

unsupervised

well they have been 're pruned' lol as predicted

and yes the dead shrubbery that dad and I dragged up to the front, is still here,

according to the chipper dudes they are coming tomorrow to take it away

dad has started to rip the box hedge and the dead conifers from each end,

we are moving some roses to this spot

Heater in the 2somes bedroom died.

Probably lucky it didn't catch alight, I walked into an awful burnt wiring stench, made my heart race

ordered a new heater this morning

picked up my new sunbeam bamix thingie too, as my old one died last week.

and touch wood I haven't had to empty the washing machine of washing and water by hand, wangle out of extremely tight space, tilt back, pray it stays tilted back spin the fan on the pump with my fingers so it will go again, then put it all back.

I am off to bunnings tomorrow for some gardening shears/choppers thought I might invest in a sledgehammer too, because you never know when you will need one......
