So so wet

we have received 107mm of rain since 9am

we received 76.2mm of rain between midnight and 9 am

its very soggy indeed.

and apparently there is more rain on the way

I didn't shut the lounge room/dining room windows last

night before I went to bed so when dh got up he had to do a

spot of mopping, oops, Henrys little quilt had to go into the

dryer, dh's laptop got a wash too, but its all ok and working

fine and Miss Emma's doona got an unexpected wash, so we

lit the fire to dry it out, it may have been chilly outside but

it was toasty warm inside :)

 the bright side of all that rain is its perfect guilt

free sewing time

not that I go to do much of that today

dh and I went to Merimbula in the rain this morning

to get some backing fabric for my in the garden quilt,

some floss for the last button club wall hanging

'Christmas Fun'

some new blue washaway clover pens (I bought 3)

and a crappy white pen for dark fabric

some fabric to bind a quilt that I bought home

to quilt on Frank for mum and

umbrellas for the girlies

and a short expensive trip to Woolies for a few groceries

and I mean a few, $150 later we were on our way home

so dh could go to work and I could do the

 washing, prepped some more centres for my hexagon quilt

and cut out some more white fabric ready for tomorrow when I

get to sew up a storm making some more hexies,

and I want to prep the first button block ready for tomorrow night

bloody stupid football is on so I am downstairs for the evening......

and I ordered season 1 of Lark Rise to Candleford at Sanity

it was a great way to spend a miserable day :)

13 Down & Photos of a finish

110 to go

yep 110 hexagons left to stitch and applique the

centres on for my Kaleidscope Hexagon quilt

and what the final result should look like, but I prefer straight edges so

I am thinking I will make a few half hexies so it will be square-ish

It's very overcast and a bit chilly today so this is where

you will find Henrycat if you come looking for him.

This is his quilt, he will only sit sleep on the couch if this

is pulled off the back for him, last night we had to pull ot down

so he would eat his ice cream.

We don't think we are going to get the 40-80mm of rain today they are predicting

the 'big' rains are further north, Bega the lucky town with Big W (45mins away) is on flood watch

but we are in for some biggish rain over the next 5 days.

Perfect sewing weather really.

I hadn't put up any photos of Mums chemo quilt all finished

but as its raining today and supposed to rain everyday until

next Monday my big plans for today are to do some

work on the Kaleidoscope Hexagon Quilt

I have sewn all the SKoW blocks together and today I

will also sew the top

and bottom borders.

Rainbow I stitched the bulk of this while waiting for the

girlies at school yesterday

the sewing block, 2 cotton reels to finish, the tape measure

to stitch down, 5 buttons to stitch on then I have 3

3" patchwork blocks to make.

and its a hot one here today so I am about to make lunch for the kids

then head downstairs to my sewing room, to watch the

Boardwalk Empire season 2 episodes I have recorded, then a

bit of Lark Rise to Candleford I love love love both shows

I hope its not to hot where-ever you are and that you

get some stitching in.

We have friends coming for a bbq tonight, good food, good company

and a few cold ones

the PERFECT end to a hot day :)

and Henrycat sang to me this morning, all the way to the vet

I came home to a flea ridden cat, due to lots of rain while I was away the

field mice have been hiding under the house where it's dry and Henry loves to go

under the house, and got a nasty dose of the fleas

 he is banned from going under there as of now

and

he has dermatitis on his chin :(

so he was subjected to an anti-histamine needle

and has antibiotics to clear it up, but

lucky Henry will get ice cream every morning and night

with a crushed tablet hiding in it :)

Nigella the 2nd (I wish)

My girlies love home baked treats, sadly when I do

bake them, its like they INHALE the goodies

and they are gone.

Its raining here today so I have gone on a baking

binge,

rock buns, my grandmas recipe and my daddy's favourite

chocolate crunch, Mrs Prosser taught me to make this in

cooking in grade 7 (28 years ago)

and Fudgy Brownies a recipe in the Herald Sun last week

if they inhale this lot, I won't be happy ;)

not very weightloss friendly but bugger it

you only live once

I found and ordered some 1930's charm squares

this morning at The Fabric Patch  

I think they will work well and what was even better was

I didn't have to pay for it  Webby did :)

Mum starts her treatment today Chemo and Radiation

fingers crossed for her that its a good outcome after her

treatment is finished.

I managed to get February's SAL blocks appliqued last night

after lunch I am going to sit down in front of the tv, catch up

on what I recorded while I was away and do the feature stitching

then prep some more blocks and see if I can get a little bit ahead

I am a bit over sew, laugh, love I will save whats left for my next trip

away which is supposed to be a camping trip over Easter

(but we might be moving house instead, fingers crossed please,

no not home to Tassie but to the House on the Hill

aka The Harbour Masters Cottage, ocean views, a HUGE HUGE

block with plenty of room for a new cottage garden, chickens,

the kids and the dog)
